Her leadership drives meaningful change, creating pathways for growth and success in underserved communities.

  • Lonnie Smith

    Lonnie Smith is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of House of Soles, a sneaker and streetwear boutique located in downtown East Lansing, Michigan. He is currently a junior at Central Michigan University, majoring in Fashion Merchandising.

    Before launching his entrepreneurial journey, Lonnie was an avid athlete, playing both basketball and football throughout his high school. He is also deeply committed to community service, having volunteered with several youth camps and organizations, including Kicks for Kids, which provides footwear to children in need.

    Director of Marketing and Execution

    Jordan E. Taylor is the Marketing Manager at the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), where she leads brand strategy and marketing initiatives to empower Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs). With nearly a decade of experience across nonprofit, engineering, and corporate sectors, she specializes in multi-channel campaigns that drive growth, visibility, and economic equity. Passionate about leveraging data-driven insights and storytelling, Jordan excels in program development, stakeholder engagement, and partnerships that create transformative change for brands and communities.

  • Dessie Johnson

    Director of Grants and Funds

    Dessie Johnson is a vocational rehabilitation expert with over 15 years of experience advocating for disability rights and empowering marginalized communities. As the Vocational Assessment Coordinator at Work Skills Corporation, she guides individuals through assessments, career planning, and skill development to achieve meaningful employment. Passionate about equitable opportunities, she also teaches cognitive restructuring courses to parolees, helping them build essential skills for personal and professional growth.

  • Natalya Lalor

    Director of Fundraising

    Natalya Lalor is a board member of The Honey Bear Project, bringing over 20 years of insurance industry experience to support children’s welfare. She has led community initiatives in literacy, education, and youth development, leveraging her expertise to create meaningful impact. Passionate about service, she stays actively engaged in volunteer work while enjoying reading, family time, and exploring new places.

    Laraine Denese Walton has dedicated her career at Michigan State University to supporting student parents and fostering an inclusive campus community. As Assistant Director of the Student Parent Resource Center, she advocates for student families while actively contributing to diversity, inclusion, and community engagement initiatives. With 23 years of experience and a strong background in human services and administration, she remains committed to mentoring, guiding, and enhancing the collegiate experience for students and their families.
