FieldTurf Safety

Leading research has shown that the higher the infill weight is, the lower the injuries.

Keeping athletes safe has and will always be our first priority. Every day, we push the boundaries of research and innovation to engineer the most advanced artificial turf systems in the industry.

While no sport can ever be completely injury-free, we continue to find new ways to reduce the risk and severity of injuries. Our focus on safety has led to numerous injury-reducing innovations and improvements. As a result, we have the products and experience to help you provide the safest playing field possible for athletes.

Independent multi-year research validates our efforts to provide athletes with the safest field possible and to make the polyethylene fibers in their ‘turfs’ softer and more resilient.

Heavyweight infill systems (9.0 lbs per sq.ft) have proven safety benefits and are supported by long-term on-field research.

Key to our company becoming a world leader in the sports field surface industry is its patented system which creates an artificial surface very much like real grass. Big advantage of an artificial field over a real grass field – no matter the weather, it is always ready.

Field Turf products are warranted for 8-years, though, the usage can be upwards of 12 to 15 years.

The company has a 500,000 sq/ft manufacturing plant in Calhoun, Georgia (about halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga, TN).

For the Honey Bear Project, with a goal of new or replacement fields at as many as 40 HBCU football stadiums, FieldTurf estimates the total cost would be in the $30/$40-million range with minimal to no cost to the schools.
