MISSION
VISION
Our mission is to empower Black women and girls through culturally relevant HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and wellness initiatives. We focus on increasing awareness, reducing high-risk behaviors, and providing community-centered outreach that helps stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and lower infection risk.
Be Informed. Be Empowered. Be Protected.
We envision communities where the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on Black women is eliminated through bold outreach, compassionate education, and equitable access to prevention and care—ensuring every Black woman has the knowledge, resources, and power to protect her health and future.
FACTS
Black women represent just 13% of the female population, yet account for 50% of new HIV diagnoses among women, making targeted prevention and outreach urgent.
While overall HIV rates may be improving, Black women remain disproportionately impacted—and without intentional education, outreach, and prevention, these disparities will continue.

SISTERSAFE (YOUTH)
SisterSafe Youth creates a safe, supportive environment through small group settings that foster trust and connection. Led by consistent facilitators trained in youth development and trauma-informed care, the program uses age-appropriate language and activities to meet participants where they are. Youth are encouraged to engage at their own pace, with space to share or simply listen. Ensuring every participant feels respected, comfortable, and supported.
SisterSafe Youth is designed to support young Black women ages 16–21 living with HIV/AIDS by providing a protected, affirming space for growth and connection. The program centers emotional support, identity development, and peer relationships during critical formative years, while addressing key areas such as coping with diagnosis, navigating school and family dynamics, building self-esteem, reducing stigma and isolation, and strengthening communication and self-advocacy skills—reinforcing that no one has to face this journey alone.
SISTERSAFE (ADULT)
SisterSafe Adults is a supportive sisterhood for women 22+ living with HIV/AIDS, offering a space to process lived experiences, build meaningful community, and navigate adulthood together. The program focuses on long-term health and resilience, relationships and family planning, career and financial stability, and mental and emotional well-being. It also creates space for conversations around aging with HIV and empowers women to redefine strength, joy, and purpose on their own terms.
SisterSafe offers peer-led or professionally facilitated circles designed to create a supportive, respectful space for connection and growth. With both in-person and virtual options, participants can engage in open dialogue, build community, and access optional mentorship opportunities. Our approach prioritizes safety and confidentiality, with trauma-informed facilitation, clear expectations around privacy, and zero tolerance for judgment or shaming. Sharing is always choice-based—there is no pressure to speak, only an invitation to participate at your own pace.
