OUR MISSION

At Honey Bear Project, our mission is to foster a sense of unity and belonging through impactful community outreach and social justice programs. We are dedicated to empowering the Mid-Michigan community through sustainable projects that address local needs, promote equality, and create lasting change.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to create a world where every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive. We aim to build lasting partnerships that strengthen our mission and amplify the impact of our programs, dedicated to empowering youth and uplifting underserved communities. By fostering a network of collaboration and compassion, we strive to cultivate a future where every child can grow, dream, and succeed, creating a ripple effect of positive change that will benefit generations to come.

A LETTER FROM THE CEO

It is during times like these that I am proud to be a part of The Honey Bear Project, working to advance equity, reduce disparities, and support students by providing career counseling and scholarships to those from underserved communities. With the support of our partners and donors I believe we can make a difference one student at a time.

Today, students are struggling to find their path after high school and college. The cost of a college education is on the rise, inflation is at an all-time and so many of our youths are struggling with the need to find quality jobs and the means to pay their tuition. We are all called upon to be vocal leaders, dispelling racist misconceptions and advocating strongly for the needs of the communities served by our grantees as well as our grantees themselves.

We know that each day is bringing significant challenges and pressures on the operations of nonprofit organizations – and on their leadership. We also know that nonprofit leaders rise to challenges every day with ingenuity, compassion, resilience, fortitude, and integrity. In times like these, nonprofit organizations in our communities stand shoulder-to-shoulder, and we encourage you to stand at their backs.

I’m extremely proud of the work our Turf & Lights consultants are doing to help drive donations to our programs, establish partnering schools and advance the lives of others.

We can do better; we will do more and together our work will continue for years to come.
